The French Ligue 1 side Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) have secured their place at the top of the table after beating Brest 2-0 on Saturday afternoon.
In front of a raucous home crowd at Parc des Princes, PSG were in control from the outset and were rewarded with a goal just before half-time when Mauro Icardi headed home from close range.
Icardi's header was followed up by another fine finish from Kylian Mbappe as PSG doubled their lead late on through the prolific forward.
The result leaves PSG three points clear at the top of the table, while Brest slip to seventh in the standings.
Mbappe and Neymar have been in scintillating form for PSG this season, with both players scoring twice in their last two games against Brest and Bordeaux respectively.
It is testament to the quality of the duo that PSG can still be considered title favourites despite being so far ahead of their nearest rivals.
However, there is still work to do for PSG if they want to secure the Ligue 1 crown this year.
They will face a tough run of fixtures over the next few months, including games against Lyon, Monaco and Marseille, which could well determine the outcome of the league title race.
But for now, it looks like PSG are on course to go one better than last season, where they finished runners-up to Lyon.
With Mbappe and Neymar leading the charge, there is no doubt that PSG will be a force to be reckoned with in the coming weeks and months.
